Everything You Need to Know to Visit Edge at Hudson Yards

If so, the Edge at Hudson Yards is a must for your bucket list. Edge boasts fresh, unique views from the vantage point of Hudson Yards on the far western edge of Manhattan. And it's included in New York C3® tickets.

Rising to 1,131 feet (336 meters), Edge is the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere and is the newest addition to New York's many architectural marvels.

The triangular-shaped platform juts almost 80 feet off the east and south sides of the 100th floor of 30 Hudson Yards, allowing for fantastic, awe-inspiring views of the Big Apple and beyond. Bordered by frameless glass panels and the 225-square-foot glass floor, Edge is more akin to an open-air plaza suspended in mid-air.

The Edge entrance is on Level 4 of The Shops and Restaurants at Hudson Yards. You'll begin your lofty adventure with an immersive multimedia experience before taking the 52-second elevator ride to the 100th floor to Edge. You can spend as much time as you want at Edge, and as one would imagine, the sunset views are pretty spectacular!

You'll sense an exhilarating rush as you venture outside to the 7,500-square-foot open-air platform. You'll experience a dizzying thrill as you stand on the glass floor peering down at the city streets 100 stories below. You'll feel your heart race and palms sweat as you lean out over the busy streets below from the angled glass walls. And last, but not least, you'll take a deep breath, smile and take in the astounding 360-degree views.

If you're in need of some alone time, there's a small, one-person space at The Eastern Point. There, surrounded only by glass and the sky, you can savor a solitary moment and enjoy the view — it's also fantastic photo op!

The Skyline Steps take you to the 101st floor for an even better view (if you can believe it!). While there, relax either inside or outside on the sky deck and enjoy some champagne or a handcrafted cocktail and appetizers from the bar. On your way up (or down) make sure to sit on the steps for a while and admire the view from a different vantage point.

Fun Facts

Edge is considered by many to be an engineering, architectural and technological feat. Some interesting facts:

• The deck is made of 15 sections, weighing between 35,000 and 100,000 pounds each and anchored to the south and east sides of the building. The sky deck weighs 765,000 pounds.
• The exterior border of the deck is made of 79 glass panels, each 9 feet tall and weighing 1,200 pounds. They are set at a 6.6 degree outward angle. The panels were manufactured in Germany and finished in Italy before being shipped to the U.S. and installed on the platform.
• The elevator ride to Edge takes 52 seconds.

The Shed is located where the High Line meets Hudson Yards, adjacent to 15 Hudson Yards and bordering the Public Square and Gardens.
• High Line: The High Line is the 1.5 mile iconic urban park built on a historic, elevated rail line running 30 feet above street level along the west side of Manhattan. Along the High Line you'll experience nature, avant-garde arts programs, cultural performances, music, exhibitions, murals and design works. While the High Line runs the perimeter of Hudson Yards, the main entrance is located on 30th Street by 10 Hudson Yards.
